Adorable African painted pup explore their Oregon Zoo habitat
PORTLAND, Ore. (FOX 13) - An adorable litter of month-old African painted pups are growing up fast and exploring their habitat at the Oregon Zoo.
The active pups were born in nearly November at the zoo, located in Portland. Zoo officials released video showing them exploring their outdoor habitat. Their caretakers said they have been eating, sleeping and growing. They appear to be healthy.
The litter was born to a first-time mom, Ella.
African painted dogs are an endangered species. They have been wiped out in 25 of 39 countries due to human contact and devastation to their habitat, according to the Oregon Zoo.
