APD on lookout for Circle C Park assault suspect
The Austin Police Department is asking the public for help in locating an assault suspect. It happened on August 1 at around 7:30 p.m. at 6301 West Slaughter Lane in Circle C Park.
Police say the victim was running Escarpment Boulevard when she entered the jogging trails of Circle C Park. She was running west on the trails and came to an area of basketball courts located on the northwest end of the park where she continued her run.
The victim was just west of a street that runs through the park called Vinemont Drive. As she ran past the court s she saw the suspect hiding behind a bush and ran past the suspect.
Once the victim came to the location of the suspect he pushed the victim down and proceeded to physically assault the victim. The victim resisted and yelled while the suspect remained on his feet and hovered over her.
At some point a male walking a dog entered the area and the victim believes the suspect saw the man and ran from the scene.
The victim describe's the suspect as:
- Not white or back, possible Hispanic
- Suspect was in his 40s
- Was approximately 5'9" tall
- Medium build
- Wearing a black long sleeve shirt, black pants and a black baseball hat.
A similar incident occurred on May 20 around 12 p.m. and the suspect in that incident was described as:
- Hispanic male
- 6 feet tall
- Medium build
- 40s
- Black baseball cap
- Worn/unwashed jeans
- Unknown shoes
- A short beard
- Clothing was also similar
