Austin man's dying wish is to fish among the best

One Austin man's dying wish is to fish among the best in the world.

FOX 7 first introduced you to David Cosner in 2015. He suffers from Granulomatosis, a very rare disease that has attacked his lungs. Doctors recently told him they believe it is terminal.

The 28-year-old Texas State grad is pretty remarkable.

Since being diagnosed with the disease in 2006, he has never let it slow him down.

Throughout that time, he graduated college at the start of the Bass Cats college fishing team at Texas State and has been in tournament bass fishing since eight years old, winning countless awards. Besides that he is also a motivational speaker, hoping to inspire others with his story. Now, he wants to check one last thing off his list.

"You know my dad asked me, you know, he said son 'what's the one thing you want to do before you die?' I looked at him and sobbed a little bit," said David Cosner. "I said let me really think about it, I want to give you a serious answer. the next day I said, I want to fish against the best in the world. I want to fish in the 2018 bass master central opens as a pro. since that point forward, I've been putting 8 to 10 hour days on the computer, making phone calls."

Cosner already has around twenty industry sponsors and overwhelming support from the community.

A GoFundMe page has already raised more than eight-thousand dollars. His goal is 15-thousand, which will allow his dream to come true. To learn more or to help donate, click here
