Austin police investigating deadly officer involved shooting

The Austin Police Department is investigating a deadly officer involved shooting in the 7300 block of South Glenn Street.

Police say a female suspect was chasing her three people, reportedly her roommates, with a knife. The suspect had also assaulted them with bites and scratches.

Officers were able to get all the occupants to safety but the suspect ran at an officer with the knife. Police say the officer shot at the suspect and the suspect died.

No officers were hurt. Austin Police Department Interim Chief Brian Manley.says the suspect was 18 and was possibly related to the victims.
