Body found on Spicewood Springs Rd. identified

UPDATE: The body found on Spicewood Springs Road has been identified as Mark Hayes, 46, of Austin. 

The Medical Examiner's Office has stated the cause of death was accidental drowning.  

Investigators are working to identify a body found in Bull Creek. A group of people who were passing by made the discovery around 11:30 Tuesday morning.

Investigators were working another case when they found the other body. During last Friday night's torrential rain, Travis County investigators got a call from a witness along Spicewood Springs Road. That person saw a grey sedan get swept away by flood water.

Search teams looked for it on Saturday and found an empty pickup truck. Then Tuesday, they discovered the body of a man in his 40's, 100 yards away from where they found the truck. He was tangled in brush and trees.They believe the man may have lived in the area .

On Wednesday, Investigators will continue looking for the grey sedan that was originally reported. These two cases are unrelated.
