Body of missing swimmer at Lake Travis found

The Travis County Sheriff's Office says that the body of the missing swimmer in Lake Travis has been found. Officials tweeted out the news at around 8:15 a.m. on Memorial Day.

No details about the swimmer's identity has been released except for that the swimmer was a Hispanic male.

Paramedics with ATCEMS responded to a possible drowning at Bob Wentz Park around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, 2018. A female in her thirties was pulled from the water by divers. 

She was treated on scene and transported to Baylor Scott & White Lakeway.

Her condition is not expected to be life-threatening.

While responding to this possible drowning, the first responders were alerted that one other swimmer was unaccounted for. The missing swimmer had jumped into the water to help the female swimmer. 

He was one of three men who attempted to help. He didn't resurface.

First responders said he was not wearing a life-jacket. Firefighters with Lake Travis Fire and Rescue have been assisting with sonar technology in an attempt to locate the swimmer.
