Have you seen him? Austin police are looking for the suspect who robbed and assaulted a victim in downtown.

Police are searching for a robbery suspect who assaulted a victim downtown, the Austin Police Department (APD) said.

Austin police said on Nov. 14 2024, between 9-9:15 a.m., officers responded to a robbery by assault at the Bread Basket Convenience store, at 2228 E Cesar Chavez Street.

The victim told police the suspect entered the store and stole multiple vapes from a display facing the cash register. When the victim tried to stop the suspect, he was assaulted.

The suspect stole the vapes and left the store. Police said he was headed toward 2nd St. and Pedernales St.

APD described the suspect as a black man, around 18–21 years old, about 5'9, with a thin build, and short curly hair.
