Broken water pipe in South Austin
Update: According to Austin Water the road was reopened Tuesday around 1:30 p.m. and water has been restored to homes in the area.
Officials said the water was temporality shut off and ten homes were without water for a short time. However, the break has since been repaired by crews and water has been restored.
Crews are working to fix a broken water pipe in the 2300 block of Barton Parkway at Homedale Drive.
Barton Parkway is closed in both directions and drivers are asked to avoid the area.
