Cab fire shuts down Highway 130, causes evacuations

An 18-wheeler transporting a nitrogen trailer caught on fire on State Highway 130 Thursday night. 

According to the Austin Fire Department, the vehicle was on fire near Parmer Lane. 

The Austin Police Department,Pflugerville Police Department and Travis County Sheriff's Office all assisted AFD. Due to the risk of a tank explosion, a half mile area surrounding the 18-wheeler was evacuated and both the northbound and southbound lanes of the highway were shutdown. 

Highway 130 was shutdown from Pecan Street to Highway 290 for a short amount of time. 

It is unclear what led to the vehicle fire at this time.
