Central Texas students walkout after Florida high school shooting

Walk outs and moments of silence were seen at two schools in Central Texas on Wednesday following the deadly school shooting in Parkland, Florida where 17 people were killed

Students from Small Middle School in southwest Austin walked out on Wednesday to protest gun violence. Austin ISD said about 100 students walked out. 

In Leander ISD, about 30 students from Vista Ridge High School walked out to a flagpole for 17 minutes of silence during their advisory period, according to a statement from the district. Leander ISD said they wanted to "show solidarity with their counterparts in Parkland, Florida."

Several students across the country have walked out in the wake of the Florida shooting.
