Emma Sue Loveland said the only presents she asked for at her birthday party this year were shoes to donate to people who don't have them. "I want people who really really need them to be able to get shoes that they need," the 10-year-old from Cobb County said.

But before her party, she decided to go big and start "Sneakers for the Summer."

"I really like sneakers the most because fall and winter are coming up, and I don't want these people to be wearing sandals during the winter and their feet get really cold."

She and her mom Becky set up donation boxes across Cobb County to collect new and gently used shoes. The community came running to help, donating more than 800 pairs of shoes so far.

The shoes will go to MUST Ministries and will be given to families without warm shoes before winter hits.

The drive lasts until Labor Day weekend. You can donate at these places:

  1. Farmer John's Produce: 3810 Due West Rd NW, Marietta, GA 30064
  2. West Cobb Orange Theory: 600 Dallas Hwy, Marietta, GA 30064
