Coupon marketing company rewards Austin residents with $100 instant win checks

Valpak the direct marketing company is celebrating its 50th year in business by placing $100 instant win checks into random Valpak envelopes in 150 cities.

Valpak Austin owner Kevin Ernest said five winning envelopes get mailed out each month, no strings attached. The winner can cash the check immediately. The company markets local businesses across Austin and delivers coupons to 500,000 households.

"We are excited about the contest and it really builds open rate for us and it kind of rewards the clients," Ernest said."Most get redeemed but believe it or not there are a lot that get tossed out and so they could be tossing out you know free cash."

The contest will last until the end of 2018.
