Dallas man dies while chasing relative's killer

DALLAS - Two people are dead after a shooting and crash overnight in Dallas.

Dallas police said a man died trying to chase the person who shot and killed his relative. His SUV crashed into a utility pole on Elsie Faye Higgins Road near 2nd Avenue.

Officers discovered the driver’s dead relative on the road less than a mile away.

Another family member who showed up at the shooting scene became distraught and crashed his motorcycle. He was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Police have not yet released the names of the men who died. They also haven’t released a description of the shooter, who is still on the run.
