Dolly Parton’s nephew fired from security role at singer’s properties: Report

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Dolly Parton’s nephew, who announced her death, has been removed from his longtime role overseeing security at the singer’s properties following her death, according to a termination notice obtained by TMZ.

The singer, known for hits including "Jolene" and "9 to 5," died on August 25 at 80 years old. During her lifetime, Parton sold more than 100 million records worldwide.

Bryan Seaver, who had served as Parton’s head of security, was notified that he and his security companies were immediately being dismissed from all of Parton’s properties, according to the notice. 

The change reportedly came on Wednesday as a new security team took over at Parton’s main home in Nashville, as well as her museum, downtown residence and warehouse, sources told TMZ.

Seaver and members of his security team have raised questions about the decision and criticized Parton’s longtime manager, Danny Nozell, and Pinnacle Bank, according to TMZ. 

Sources told the outlet that Seaver and his team were "dismayed by the unexpected and, so far, unexplained actions," following Parton’s death.

According to TMZ, the sources said the group remained committed to protecting Parton’s family and carrying out what they described as her final wishes. It also alleged that some actions involving her estate were being taken in bad faith and for financial gain. Those claims have not been independently verified.

The termination notice stated that Parton’s properties and professional business interests were held by the DP Dean Trust. It also specifies that although Seaver was removed from his security responsibilities, his personal interest in the trust remains intact.

Seaver was the family member chosen to publicly announce Parton’s death, according to TMZ.

"I have imagined the heaviness of this moment, but haven't truly felt it until now," Seaver said in the video post. "Dolly has lived the light and is in the arms of Jesus, surely met by Carl, her parents, and countless others who have watched her and longed for her to meet them in the heavens."
