DPS looking for man who evaded arrest in Hays County

Texas Department of Public Safety says it is looking for a person who evaded arrest on Nov. 18.

Officials say that at about 2:20 a.m. a DPS trooper stopped a 2013 Hyundai Elantra on I-35 in Hays County for speeding.

The driver of the Hyundai fled the scene and evaded arrest in the vehicle. Officials say the driver was recklessly weaving in and out of traffic and disregarded multiple traffic control devices.

The vehicle came to stop at Granada Drive and Catalina Drive and officials say all three of the vehicle's occupants got out and fled on foot into a wooded area.

The passenger and driver were located and identified but the third person was not found. DPS is asking anyone who may know the person to call Crime Stoppers at 512-472-8477.

The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 23-year-old Jose Olivo Beltran from Cedar Creek and the other passenger is 26-year-old Veronica Tijerina from Del Valle.
