Dripping Springs holds transgender bathroom meeting

Parents at Dripping Springs ISD went to the school board on Monday to talk about the district's new bathroom policy.

A transgender elementary school student is being allowed to use the bathroom she identifies with but parents say they were never notified.

The district said they didn't notify parents to protect the child's privacy. Last year FOX 7 was told the child used a private bathroom and this year is using the girls bathroom. Parents spent two hours passionately sharing their thoughts.

The school board isn't taking this up as an item on the agenda because it was already set but its likely parents will ask them to do so in a future meeting.
