Early morning house fire in South Austin
No one was hurt after a fire in the 10000 block of Wolftrap Drive. It started in the garage at 3 a.m. and quickly spread to the house and a neighboring home.
Officials say a girl sleeping in the bedroom in the second floor, closest to the garage, felt the heat from the fire and smelled the smoke. She was able to wake up her parents and the fire department was called.
More than two dozen Austin firefighters arrived on scene to battle the fire. It was spreading but firefighters were able to to put fairly quickly.
The victims are currently staying with neighbors and may be allowed to go back in to their home depending on the extent of the damage.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
