Fatal wrong way accident in West Austin

The Austin Police Department responded to a fatal car accident in West Austin Saturday. 

The accident happened on the 2600 block of Capital of Texas highway. According to ATCEMS, a male driver in a white car was traveling southbound on the northbound lanes of Highway 360 when he collided with a truck. 

The driver of the white car was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The driver of the truck was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries. 

There is no word yet on whether alcohol played a role in the crash.
