Flooded Bradenton animal shelter needs fosters, forever homes

A Bradenton animal shelter is flooded following the downpour from Thursday morning, and needs help finding forever homes or foster parents.

The Honor Animal Rescue, located at 4951 Lorraine Road, posted on their Facebook page that they were in the middle of fixing their drainage issues and were not prepared for the heavy rain. They shared video showing the floodwaters throughout their property.

“As many of you know we are in the middle of a capital campaign to fix our drainage issues unfortunately this storm caught us by surprise and we are completely underwater if you’ve been considering adopting or would be willing to foster for a few days please come out to our ranch on Lorraine,” according to the Facebook post.

The organization said their computers are down, and their phone line is “sporadic.” They said the best way to help is to come to the shelter.
