FOX 7 Discussion: ATCEMS is still without an employment contract with the city of Austin

The Austin Travis County EMS union is still without a contract with the city of Austin.

Contract negotiations failed last October.  That's when the city came to an impasse with the union over wages for EMS workers.

According to the Austin Travis County EMS Employee Association this is the first time this has happened in nearly 10-years.

The association represents more than 550 EMS workers in the Austin area.

FOX 7 Austin’s Mike Warren and Rebecca Thomas talk to President of the Austin Travis County EMS Employee Association Tony Marquardt about the situation.
