FOX 7 Discussion: City Council Wants Homeland Security to Grant Asylum to Three Immigrants
AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin City Council is working on a resolution that will ask U.S. Homeland Security to grant asylum to three people currently living in churches in Austin.
Four council members are urging officials not to send these migrants which includes one child back to their home countries.
FOX 7 Austin’s Rebecca Thomas talked to Glenn Smith from Progress Texas and, Gary Teal with the Travis County Republican Party about whether city council should get involved with the federal matter.
