H-E-B to re-build Bellaire location, will be first multi-level store in Houston

BELLAIRE, TEXAS - With the support of the Bellaire City Council and its Planning and Zoning Commission, H-E-B has committed to re-invest in the community by building a newly designed store at its current location, 5130 Cedar.
"We have enjoyed our Bellaire neighbors for the past 22 years and look forward to bringing them a store tailored to their needs filled with stellar features and products that will enhance their shopping experience for years to come," said H-E-B Houston president, Scott McClelland.
The new store will contain an innovative combination of products and services designed specifically with the shoppers from the neighborhood in mind including expanded and new departments. At this time, plans include a two-story building that will more than double the size of the current store. Shoppers will also enjoy expanded parking in the two-story garage equipped with elevators and "travelators" to easily transfer purchases to a vehicle.
"We welcome this new store and the opportunity to strengthen our relationship with H-E-B as a valued community partner. This project is reflective of the City's efforts over the last several years to encourage commercial redevelopment through targeted changes in our zoning code, to attract new and renewed businesses that will improve our commercial areas and better serve the needs of our residents," said Mayor of Bellaire, Andrew Friedberg.
The current location opened in 1994 quickly establishing a loyal following of local shoppers delivering quality H-E-B products and customer service. Construction will begin in early 2017 with a grand opening scheduled for fall 2017.
