Helping those in need on Father's Day
AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - A local group and a former World's Strongest Man decided to spend Father's Day giving back to those in need in Austin.
The Austin Area Urban League and Mark Henry, along with Maestro's Classic Beard Line, handed out hygiene kits and water to anyone who wanted help at the I-35 underpass near 6th Street.
Two time Olympian and wrestler Henry flew in on Sunday just to offer his assistance.
"The other day we saw quite a few members of our community being pushed out from under the overpasses so we decided that we would do something to give them a leg up on fathers day." said Quincy Dunlap, president and CEO, Austin Area Urban League.
A barber was also on hand to provide haircuts.
Organizers say they hope to hold the event again next year.
