Homes evacuated after gas main break in Northwest Austin

AUSTIN, Texas - Six homes have been evacuated in Northwest Austin after a gas main break.

The 4-inch gas main was struck in the 7500 block of Fireoak Drive at around 10:55 a.m. Wednesday. Crews shut off the power as a precaution.

At about 3 p.m., AFD said the emergency portion of the incident was concluded. Gas flow was clamped. 

Texas Gas Service repair crews are still on the scene.
