Killeen police investigating shooting death in southwest Killeen

The Killeen Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a man in southwest Killeen.

Killeen police say officers were dispatched on Sunday just after 3 a.m. to Mickey's Convenience Store on S. Fort Hood Road in reference to a call about a gunshot victim. Officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound and started life-saving measures until paramedics arrived.

The victim, identified as 20-year-old Shelby Jones, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead 40 minutes later. An autopsy has been ordered.

Homicide detectives determined that Jones was shot at Club Dreams on S.
