Killeen Police search for juvenile who escaped from the Juvenile Detention Center

The Killeen Police Department is searching for a 16-year-old black male inmate has escaped from the Juvenile Detention Center on East Rancier. 

Officers responded to a 911 call at 1:05 pm, advising a 16 year old male inmate had just escaped the Juvenile Detention Center located at 4800 E. Rancier. 

He is described as:

  • a black male 
  • 6’2” tall and weighing approximately 230 pounds 
  • wearing an orange sweat shirt and orange sweatpants
  • he was last seen running westbound in the field area.  

According to KPD, the male overpowered the detention officer and took their keys to open the door and fled.   

The juvenile is a suspect in several Burglaries, Robberies and Auto Thefts and is considered to be dangerous. 

Do not attempt to apprehend, contact local authorities if seen.

The name of the escapee will not be released since the he is a juvenile.
