Kyle police officer found dead from self inflicted gunshot wound

Officials have identified the off-duty Kyle police officer who was found dead at a San Marcos apartment complex over the weekend. They say the officer died from a self inflicted gunshot wound.
San Marcos police and EMS responded to a call on September 16 at just around 5 p.m. to a report of a man who had been shot and was dead at the Asbury Place Apartments located in the 1300 block of Wonder World Drive.
Officials have identified the man as Kyle police officer Fernando Solis. 28-year-old Solis was found in his personal vehicle in the parking lot of the apartment complex.
No suspects are being sought and no further information was made available.
San Marcos Chief of Police Chase Stapp said in a news release, "Our deepest condolences go out to Officer Solis’ family and to the entire Kyle Police Department."
