Leander man wins largest Mega Millions prize payed out to one person, purchased winning ticket in Cedar Park

A Leander resident has won the largest prize ever paid out to a single Texas Lottery player.

The winner claimed the $227 million jackpot prize that was advertised for the Mega Millions drawing held on Tuesday, September 24.

The winning Quick Pick ticket matched all of the numbers drawn (6-14-24-42-46) and the Mega Ball (9). The cash value option was selected at the time of purchase and the claimant will receive $157,091,592, the largest prize ever paid out to a single Texas Lottery player.

The claimant elected to remain anonymous.  

The ticket was purchased at the Lakeline Express Mart, off of North Lakeline Boulevard in Cedar Park. For selling the jackpot-winning ticket, the retailer received a $1 million retailer bonus.  

The next Mega Millions drawing will be held Friday, Oct. 25. The jackpot prize for the drawing is set at an estimated annuitized $93 million.
