These are the luckiest baby names, according to new data
Parents searching for the perfect baby name may be looking to the world of sport, music and entertainment for inspiration, as new research identifies the names most closely associated with success over the past decade.
In response to the growing interest, casino platform Mcluck analyzed major records from the past 10 years to identify the baby names that have appeared most frequently among some of the world's most successful athletes, entertainers and business figures.
Taylor ranks as luckiest girl name

Taking the top spot as the luckiest girl name was Taylor.
The name appeared six times among American Artist of the Year winners over the past decade, with McLuck attributing those appearances to Taylor Swift. This made Taylor the most frequently successful name across both the male and female rankings.

Emma came in second, with the name representing two separate winners in the research: Emma Stone, who won two Oscars in the past two years, and tennis player Emma Raducanu, who won the US Open.
In third place was Frances. The result was attributed to Frances McDormand, who won the Oscar for Best Actress twice during the decade examined.

Nikola is luckiest boy name
Meanwhile, the boys' ranking was topped by Nikola, based on the three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic. The prestigious title that was won by Nikola three times in the past decade meant that the name Nikola was among the most successful in his field.
The second luckiest name in America was Carlos, which earned its spot from the successful young tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, who has already won the US Open twice in the last decade at just 23 years old.
Rounding out the top three was Jeff, holding its position as the four-time winner of the "Forbes richest person" award. Jeff was the most successful boy name in the entire list, winning four awards in his field.

Parents turn to internet to choose baby name

According to Mcluck, searches for "how to choose a baby name" have increased by 300% this month in America, suggesting that parents-to-be are increasingly turning to the internet for inspiration when naming their newborns.
Another analysis, published in 2024, determined the most successful baby names based on looking at the top 500 billionaires globally using Bloomberg data and counting the number of times a name appeared on the list.

The data found that the top baby names were all traditionally male names, reflecting a gender bias still extant in the most successful areas of business today.
The names John and David, which are both classic, Biblical names, tied in first position on the chart.
