A South Florida man was arrested after Florida Fish and Wildlife officials caught him stealing sea turtle eggs from a nest on Jupiter Island in Palm Beach County.

Officials say Glenn Shaw, 49, of Tequesta, is accused of having 107 eggs in his possession.

Florida Fish and Wildlife biologists contacted law enforcement after getting a tip about someone poaching sea turtle eggs from a beach behind a home.

After stepping up patrols, officers spotted a man taking eggs from a female loggerhead sea turtle as she was laying them.

Florida Fish and Wildlife officials say 15 of the eggs had to be kept for evidence and for DNA testing, while the remaining 92 eggs were buried by biologists.
