Man killed in shooting in North Austin

AUSTIN, Texas - A man was killed in a shooting in North Austin Tuesday night.

Austin police are investigating the incident which happened around 7:30 p.m. in the 9000 block of Galewood Drive near US 183 and Payton Gin Road.

A man was transported by ATCEMS to a local trauma center with critical life-threatening injuries. He died at the hospital.

ATCEMS is asking the public to please avoid the area for investigators.

Austin police say they've taken several people into custody for questioning.
