Police have stepped up patrols around a North Austin elementary school after reports of a man exposing himself to students.

A letter was recently sent home to Wooten Elementary School parents concerning the topic.

The letter says that two Burnet Middle School students were walking behind Wooten on February 8 when a man in a parked car exposed himself. They ran off and told their parents who called police.

Police urge parents to teach their children to never talk to strangers, stay together when going outside and scream for help if anyone they don't know tries to approach them.

The letter states that Austin ISD police has increased patrols since February 9 and will do so through the rest of the week.
