The Austin Police Department was able to identify and locate the driver of the vehicle who struck the man on the scooter. She has been identified as 21-year-old Olivia Gruwell

Police officers determined there was an odor of alcohol on the suspect.

Olivia Gruwell has been arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.

FOX 7 noticed a broken fence with skid marks and dirt tracks nearby, next to Gruwell's home. A crime scene unit was there taking photos of the evidence.

Student at UT Austin Matt Lennon says it's unfortunate what's happened near his neighborhood.

"Yeah it's really quiet, there's no throughway to the highway here it's pretty much the people that live here that come in and out."
