May the force be with the newlyweds: Alamo Drafthouse hosts two "Star Wars" weddings ahead of new release

Two couples are celebrating the release of The Rise of Skywalker by getting married before the new Star Wars movie premiere.

AUSTIN, Texas - May the force be with these newlyweds.

In celebration of the latest Star Wars release "The Rise of Skywalker," the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar hosted two Star Wars-themed weddings.

The movie chain put out a call in the days leading up to the release and asked for Star Wars fans who would be willing to get married on 12/19.

"In proper Star Wars attire, two lucky couples will commit their love to each other and the Star Wars franchise." said the Alamo Drafthouse.

The two couples are the now Andy and Wendee Forbes and Matt and Mallory Anderegg.

The Alamo Drafthouse is also hosted a Star Wars marathon that showed episodes 1-8 in the lead up to the new release.
