No Refusal initiative set for Labor Day weekend in Williamson County

The Williamson County Sheriff's Office will be conducting a No Refusal initiative this Labor Day weekend.

The initiative will be in effect from Saturday, August 31 to Monday, September 2.

WCSO says the initiative is an effort to increase public awareness of the dangers of driving while intoxicated and to encourage drivers to make responsible decisions.

No Refusal is a program that allows jurisdictions to obtain search warrants for blood samples from suspected impaired drivers who refuse breath tests, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

WCSO says they are focused on reducing the number of alcohol-related crashes and incidents during the holiday.
