Officials issue waterway ban affecting Lake Austin, Ladybird Lake

AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - Officials have issued a waterway ban effective immediately after heavy rain fell in the area.

The ban affects the following:

•    Ladybird Lake from Red Bud Trail upstream to Tom Miller Dam
•    Lake Austin from Oyster Landing downstream to Tom Miller Dam

The ban remains in effect until noon on May 15 when it will be reevaulated.

A reminder that the Barton Creek Greenbelt, including the creek itself, remains closed until further notice.
