One person died, one critically burned in East Austin fire

AUSTIN, Texas— The Austin Fire Department is responding to a house fire in East Austin where one person has died and a second has been critically burned.
A woman in her 60s was critically burned and transported to the University Medical Center Brackenridge hospital. A man, whose age remains unknown, died in the fire.
Austin-Travis County EMS has two ambulances on-scene. Fire unit crews are still fighting the heavy fire in a single family residence at 1404 Ulit Avenue.
The house fire is still ongoing. We have news crews on the way and will update this story when more information becomes available.
