One person injured in stabbing on 8th Street

AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - One person was injured in a stabbing in downtown Austin. 

According to Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services, first responders were dispatched to the 500 block of East 8th Street around 8 p.m. on Monday, April 8. When ATCEMS arrived on scene, one adult male patient was located with a stabbing wound. 

He was transported to a local center with critical life-threatening injuries. 

It is unclear at this time if there is a suspect in custody. 

The Austin Police Department will be investigating the events that led up to the stabbing.
