One person killed in fatal Hays County crash
Hays County Sheriff's Office said one person is dead after a fatal motorcycle crash on the intersection of Ranch Road 12 and Elder Hill Road near Dripping Springs.
According to authorities, the crash happened just after 1:00 PM and involved a motorcycle and car. The motorcycle was headed south on RR 12 when the driver failed to negotiate the curb and laid the bike on the ground.
Texas DPS said the driver of the motorcycle, James Caudle, 55, died at the scene. He was wearing a helmet but died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The crash shut down RM 12 for several hours but it was reopened around 4:30 PM.
