Organizations raise safety awareness after San Marcos apartment fire
Four of the five victims of the deadly San Marcos apartment fire have now been identified. Officials say the apartment didn't have a sprinkler system. Now several organizations are coming together to raise safety awareness concerning residential fires and the benefits of installing sprinklers.
The partnership is in response to the fire that happened on July 20.
Six others were injured and about 200 were displaced. The community has been coming together to help those affected.
The organizations joining together to raise awareness about the need for fire prevention and education on campuses nationwide include: National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors, National Fire Sprinkler Association, Common Voices, and Center for Campus Fire Safety.
