Part of FM 685 to be renamed after fallen deputy Jessica Hollis
AUSTIN, Texas - Fallen Travis County Sheriff's Deputy Jessica Hollis was remembered Tuesday at the Capitol.
Hollis died in the line of duty during a flood last year.
Her patrol car was swept away by fast moving water as she stopped to check on a low water crossing in western Travis County.
On the same day, Senators unanimously passed SB 415. It renames part of FM 685 in the county as the Deputy Jessica Hollis Memorial Highway.
Senator Kirk Watson sponsored the bill.
