Pflugerville City Council approves first trash rate increase in four years

PFLUGERVILLE, Texas - The Pflugerville City Council has voted to approve the first trash rate increase in four years.

On Feb. 25, City Council approved a $3.04 increase in the monthly trash rate, the City's first since 2016. This also includes a $0.71 increase for an extra trash cart and a $1.43 increase for an extra recycle cart, available to customers upon request.

Trash and recycling pickup in Pflugerville remains below area cities in Central Texas for similar services, says the city.

The new rates will go in effect on March 1, with In-City trash customers paying $18.94 per month and Out-of-City trash customers paying $20.94 per month for trash service. Optional services of additional trash and recycling carts will increase to $6.83 and $3.98, respectively. 

The rate change maintains current services for customers with trash pickup once a week and recycling pickup every other week.
