Police identify woman killed in Mopac crash Sunday

Austin police have identified a woman who lost control of her car and died in a crash on Mopac Expressway Sunday morning.

Cheyanne Sage Serrano, 26, was driving in her 1999 Toyota Camry northbound in the 1000 block of the Mopac Expressway May 12 when, for unknown reasons, she lost control and slid into a tree in a grassy area between the expressway and the frontage road. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

This crash marks the 28th fatal traffic crash of the year, resulting in 29 fatalities. At this time last year, there were 22 fatal traffic crashes with 23 fatalities.
