Police investigating alleged assault in Mueller

AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - The Austin Police Department is investigating after a female was allegedly assaulted in the Mueller neighborhood Friday morning. 

APD says a female was walking in the 4600 block of Mueller Boulevard around 5:45 a.m. when a male approached her from behind. The male allegedly put something over her mouth and forced her to the ground. Police say the female fought back and the suspect fled the scene. 

The suspect is described as a Hispanic, light-skinned male who is about 5 feet 5 inches tall. He is reportedly chubby with short dark hair, or he was possibly wearing a beanie. He was last seen in a gray shirt.
