Police make arrest in connection to deadly Domain shooting

Austin police have charged three men in connection to a deadly shooting in the Domain. One has been charged with murder and the others have been charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

The three were charged in connection to the death of 20-year-old Adam Shorter who was shot and killed in the parking lot of Dick's Sporting Goods in the 3200 block of Kramer Lane on March 6.

Police identified the three as:

  • 24-year-old Deddrick Porter
  • 22-year-old Steven Gaige Hammock
  • Devin Anthony Carmona

Court documents state that Shorter was shot during an illegal drug deal.

Porter was located after police were able to use a license plate number to identify the owner of the car that was photographed next to the victim's vehicle.

Police had arrested Porter for local class C warrants and subsequently Porter was interviewed. In the interview, Porter identified the other men involved in the case.

Witnesses also identified those arrested.

Porter and Hammock have been charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and Carmona has been charged with murder. All three charges are first degree felonies. 

Bond for Porter and Hammock is set for $500,000 each and bond for Carmona is $1 million.
