Possible CO exposure at Austin business

Six people were taken to a hospital Tuesday night for possible carbon monoxide exposure at Lone Star Food Service in East Austin.

Austin-Travis County EMS says it started with one patient. Then when they arrived on scene several others had symptoms. The building was evacuated and the Austin Fire Department went in to test the air.

They found high levels of carbon monoxide and aired out the building. The owner says they are working with AFD to make sure this never happens again. AFD is still investigating the cause.

Five of the employees were released from the hospital Tuesday night, the sixth person is scheduled to be discharged Wednesday.
