With two weeks to go until the midterm elections, President Donald Trump rallied his supporters in Houston on Monday in support of Senator Ted Cruz's re-election campaign.

Supporters began lining up outside the Toyota Center on Sunday. Just after 5:30 p.m. Monday, Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo said the Toyota Center reached it's capacity.

Last week, the rally was relocated from the 8,000-seat NRG Arena to the 18,000-seat Toyota Center after thousands of people tried buying tickets online.

SECURITY MEASURES HEIGHTENED AHEAD OF TRUMP RALLY

The rally comes on the same day as early voting kicks off in Texas. Governor Greg Abbott, Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, Lara and Eric Trump, and Senator Ted Cruz himself took the stage before President Donald Trump addressed the crowd in a 90-minute speech.

President Trump spoke before a massive crowd on behalf of his onetime rival for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination. During the campaign, President Trump would frequently deride his former foe as "Lyin' Ted" but said in Texas that their relationship had come a long way.

Speaking before President Trump took the stage, Cruz also made clear the conflict was behind them and that the two were working together. His biggest applause came when he predicted that "in 2020 Donald Trump will be overwhelming re-elected."

Sen. Cruz's challenger, Democratic Congressman Beto O'Rourke, is also in Houston visiting polling stations.
