RECALL EXPANDED: Nasal products, baby oral gels added to expanded recall list

Dozens of nasal sprays and several baby oral gel products have been added to an expanded recall list, the FDA has announced.
Product Quest Manufacturing originally announced the recall of a certain type of CVS nasal spray early in August. The FDA said the original product, Lot# 173089J of CVS Health 12 Hour Sinus Relief Nasal Mist, was found to have had microbiological contamination identified as Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
In a release, the FDA said repetitive use of a nasal spray containing a gram-negative pathogen can potentially lead to colonization and subsequent infection which can be life threatening in certain patient populations, such as those with cystic fibrosis or immuno-compromised.
On August 28, Product Quest expanded the recall to include all lots of nasal products and baby oral gels currently within expiration that were manufactured at the company’s Florida facility.
The FDA put out this updated LIST and said the products can be identified by checking the item code, product description, lot number, and expiration date.
