San Marcos launches "Kudos Coin" program

SAN MARCOS, Texas - The City of San Marcos is looking to highlight residents who make San Marcos "a better place to live, work and play" through the Keep Sam Marcos Beautiful "Kudos Coin" program.

As part of the program, city council members and select city staff present a "kudos coin" to anyone spotted giving back to the San Marcos community. The coin can be redeemed for specials and offers from local businesses, including:

Austin Java- 50 percent off any drink
Creeds & Crests- 50 percent off a single item
Insomnia Cookies- 1 free cookie
Rhea's Ice Cream- Free scoop of ice cream
Root Cellar Café- Free dessert
Son of a Sailor- 25 percent off a single item
Stellar Coffee Co- $1 off a beverage
Tap Room- Free beverage
The Coffee Bar- Free small drink

The coin can be earned by behaviors such as collecting litter, helping a neighbor, and protecting San Marcos's waterways.
