Search for suspect from Regal Cinemas robbery
AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - The Austin Police Department has released surveillance video from a robbery at Regal Cinemas Arbor 8 at Great Hills in North Austin in hopes the public can help identify the suspect involved.
According to the Austin Police Department, the suspect surprised employees at the movie theater at 9828 Great Hills Trail before the business opened around 10:43 a.m. on Sunday, March 17. The suspect was wearing a Halloween-style latex mask and armed with a handgun.
The suspect was able to flee with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to police.

The suspect is believed to be a male, around six feet tall. He was wearing a latex mask, a dark colored hoodie, a blue baseball cap, blue jeans, black sneakers with white soles, and a dark backpack.
The Austin Police Department also believes that the suspect was throwing objects out of his vehicle while fleeing northbound on the 183 frontage road between Great Hills Trail and Duval Road around 10:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 17. Anyone who may have been traveling the same route and witnessed the suspect throwing objects out of his car is asked to call APD.
Police are also asking people to come forward if they recognize the suspect's backpack, shoes, hat or gloves.
